Using Advanced Mode and Pubget Enterprise

Pubget.com supports all browsers in Basic Mode.

Advanced Mode, on the other hand, requires a little extra browser setup (but we bet you'll find the faster PDF delivery and better access to article-level tools worth it!) The same setup is required if you're using the previous version of Pubget and our enterprise-grade services.

The setup required falls into two categories: 1) Enabling third-party cookies and 2) configuring your browser to display in-line PDFs.

Enabling third-party cookies

Setting up in-line PDF viewing

Most browsers should deliver in-line viewing automatically. Here are the ones that require configuration or are unreliable in Advanced Mode.

Firefox 4 on Mac OS X

Firefox 4 doesn't support in-line PDF viewing. For this browser we recommend staying in Basic Mode. You can select Basic Mode in Settings. If you're using an earlier version of FireFox, you can install the OS X inline PDF plugin, to get in-line PDFs.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome no longer supports in-line PDF viewing at all. We recommend using Basic Mode with this browser.

Firefox on Windows

While this configuration usually works, the latest release of Adobe Reader for Windows has a bug that causes Firefox to crash while displaying PDFs. The fix is rather straightforward. Go to "Check for Updates" in Adobe Reader. That will solve this problem in almost all cases. If that doesn't work, click "Repair" under the same menu. After either process runs, restart Firefox and Reader — you're good to go.
