New seminar on adolescent RH.

This article reports on the first ¿Seminar on Reproductive Health of Adolescents¿ in Tokyo and Tochigi Prefecture, held March 6-24, 2000. Sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the seminar aimed to provide practical and useful knowledge that the participants would be able to adapt to their country situations. A total of 12 participants from 11 countries attended. The seminar began with a lecture providing a global analysis of adolescent reproductive health, followed by sessions identifying related issues and countermeasures. One of the highlights of the seminar was the field trip coordinated by Tochigi Prefecture. During the trip, participants met with the Tochigi Society on Adolescent Health, visited the Hozumi Primary School, observed a sex education class for first-graders, and attended a peer counseling session held in Ashikaga City Hall. Overall, feedback from the participants was noted to be positive.
