Finometer, finger pressure measurements with the possibility to reconstruct brachial pressure.

Blood Press Monit 8(1):27-30 (2003) PMID 12604933

To evaluate three methods aimed at the reconstruction of brachial pressure from non-invasive finger arterial pressure measurements as implemented in the Finometer trade mark, (FMS, Finapres Measurement Systems, Arnhem, Netherlands), the successor to the Finapres trade mark (TNO Biomedical Instrumentation, Amsterdam, Netherlands).

  1. Impedance pneumography: noise as signal in impedance cardiography.

    Psychophysiology 36(3):333-8 (1999) PMID 10352556

We report here methods and validation for deriving impedance pneumographic measures of respiration from impedance cardiography signals, based on standard tetrapolar band electrodes. We recorded the change in impedance (delta Z), the first derivative of the change in impedance (dZ/dt), output from a...
  2. Effects of external pressure on arteries distal to the cuff during sphygmomanometry.

IEEE Trans Biomed Eng 52(6):1120-7 (2005) PMID 15977741

The aim of this study was to examine the effect on distal arteries of external pressure, applied by upper arm sphygmomanometer cuff. Photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals were measured on the index fingers of 44 healthy male subjects, during the slow decrease of cuff air pressure. For each pulse the r...

    Blood Press Monit 16(2):96-8 (2011) PMID 21412074

We evaluated two new Welch Allyn automated blood pressure (BP) algorithms. The first, SureBP, estimates BP during cuff inflation; the second, StepBP, does so during deflation. We followed the American National Standards Institute/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation SP10:2006 s...
