Anti-influenza virus activity of biflavonoids

Bioorg Med Chem Lett 17(3):4 (2007) PMID 17110111

Ginkgetin was found to inhibit the influenza virus sialidase. Ginkgetin-sialic acid conjugates showed a significant survival effect in the influenza-virus-infected mice.

  1. Interventions for avian influenza A (H5N1) risk management in live bird market networks.

    Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A (2013) PMID 23650388

Highly pathogenic avian influenza virus subtype H5N1 is endemic in Asia, with live bird trade as a major disease transmission pathway. A cross-sectional survey was undertaken in northern Vietnam to investigate the structure of the live bird market (LBM) contact network and the implic...
  2. Interferon Inducible Transmembrane Protein 3 (IFITM3) Restricts Reovirus Cell Entry.

    J Biol Chem (2013) PMID 23649619

We sought to determine whether IFITM3 also restricts reovirus entry. IFITM3-expressing cell lines were less susceptible to infection by reovirus, as they exhibited significantly lower percentages of infected cells in comparison to control cells. Reovirus replication was also significantly reduced in...
  3. Pain experience in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis treated with anti-TNF agents compared to non-biologic standard treatment.

    Pediatr Rheumatol Online J 11(1):21 (2013) PMID 23641813

No significant differences were found between the anti-TNF group and non-biologic standard treatment group for average pain score, number of children with daily pain reported in the pain diary, or level of functional disability. Significantly more children in the anti-TNF group reported no pain at a...
