Arachnoid granulations in the cerebral dural sinuses as demonstrated by contrast-enhanced 3D magnetic resonance venography.

Surg Radiol Anat 29(4):323-8 (2007) PMID 17483869

Identification of normal filling defects within the intracranial dural sinuses reduces the erroneous diagnosis of the presence of an intrasinus pathologic process. The aim of this prospective study was to assess the prevalence, distribution, and morphological characteristics of arachnoid granulations (AGs) in the dural sinuses.

For more than a decade, turbo spin echo (TSE) pulse sequences have been suggested as an alternative to echo planar imaging (EPI) sequences for fMRI studies. Recent development in parallel imaging has renewed the interest in developing more robust TSE sequences for fMRI. In this study...

This paper describes the development of a novel technique for functional MRI of the human brain at 0.135 microL resolution for a whole brain section. In comparison with conventional studies at 3 mm isotropic resolution or 27 microL voxel size, the method yields an improvement by a factor of 200. To...

The results from of the 49 patients enrolled into the survival analysis demonstrated that traditional prognostic parameters (tumor size and nodal metastasis) and semi-quantitative parameters (E(max/1), and steepest slope) demonstrated significant differences in survival intervals (p<0.05).
