A novel mcl PHA-producing bacterium, Pseudomonas guezennei sp. nov., isolated from a 'kopara' mat located in Rangiroa, an atoll of French Polynesia.

J Appl Microbiol 104(2):581-6 (2008) PMID 17927760

The aim of the present study was to describe an aerobic, mesophilic and heterotrophic bacterium, designated RA26, able to produce a medium-chain-length polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). It was isolated from a French Polynesian bacterial mat located in the atoll of Rangiroa.

    Appl Biochem Biotechnol 163(1):195-203 (2011) PMID 20632129

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are polymers of hydroxyalkanoate, which are accumulated by many bacteria as food storage material under excess carbon source and limited nitrogen source. In our study, Enterobacter cloacae SU-1 isolated from the rhizospheric soil of Arachis hypogea was allowed to grow as...

Cellulosic biomass is a potentially inexpensive renewable feedstock for the biorefineries of fuels, chemicals and materials. Sugarcane bagasse was pretreated in dilute acid solution under moderately severe conditions, releasing sugars and other hydrolysates including volatile organic acids, furfural...

The pretreatment of sugarcane bagasse with lime (calcium hydroxide) is evaluated. The effect of lime pretreatment on digestibility was studied through analyses using central composite design (response surface), considering pretreatment time, temperature, and lime loading as factors. The responses ev...
