A randomized trial of the effect of automated ventricular capture on device longevity and threshold measurement in pacemaker patients.

Audio, Transactions of the IRE Professi... 31(11):1467-74 (2008) PMID 18950305

An automatic capture (AC) algorithm adjusts ventricular pacing output to capture the ventricle while optimizing output to 0.5 V above threshold. AC maintains this output and confirms capture on a beat-to-beat basis in bipolar and unipolar pacing and sensing.

  1. From full stopping to transparency in a holographic model of heavy ion collisions

    arXiv:1305.4919 [hep-th] 21 May 2013

We numerically simulate planar shock wave collisions in anti-de Sitter space As a model for heavy ion collisions of large nuclei. We uncover a cross-over Between two different dynamical regimes as a function of the collision energy. At low energies the shocks first stop and then explode in a manner...

    Circ Res 112(10):e110-4 (2013) PMID 23661713

Although the circadian dependence of infarct size supported by previous studies poses an intriguing hypothesis, we were unable to converge toward their conclusions in a multicentric and multiethnic setting. Parameters that vary as a function of latitude could potentially obscure the circadian variat...

In vitro and in vivo studies suggest that the basolateral membrane of choroid plexus cells, which is in contact with blood vessels, is involved in the uptake of the reduced form of vitamin C, ascorbic acid, through the sodium-vitamin C cotransporter, SVCT2. Moreover, very low levels...
