[The omega connector--a module for jointed coupling of titanium total prostheses in the middle ear].

Laryngorhinootologie 88(12):782-8 (2009) PMID 19639531

Hearing improvement after reconstruction of a defect ossicular chain depends on material, design and - crucially - coupling of the prosthesis. Coupling a total ossicular replacement prosthesis to the stapes footplate can be problematic and lead to prosthesis instability. In order to solve this problem, the Omega Connector was developed, a module allowing the middle ear surgeon to couple a titanium total prosthesis to the stapes footplate in a flexible, angle-variable manner.

    J Phys Chem A (2013) PMID 23627350

We study the problem of intermediate-to-high-damping escape from a metastable state of a dissipative system driven by a rapidly oscillating field, one of the most important classes of nonequilibrium systems, in a broad range of field driving frequencies ($\omega$) and amplitudes (a). We construct a...

The patterns include anomalies in key genes implicated in the pathogenesis of RA and are stable for multiple cell passages. Persistent epigenetic alterations could contribute to the aggressive phenotype of RA synoviocytes and identify potential therapeutic targets that could modulate the pathogenic...

    Gait Posture (2013) PMID 23642629

We explored the possibility that a reduction in preferred speed in older adults represents a strategy to preserve the mechanical function of the leg muscles. We examined this question in the soleus muscle in eight healthy young (25.8±3.5 years) and eight healthy older adults (66.1±2.3 years) who w...
