Recent development of minimally invasive surgery has raised interest in laparoscopic surgery through a single abdominal incision. The most common names for this technique is single incisional laparoscopic surgery (SILS) or laparoscopic endoscopic single-site surgery (LESS). This article describes the first experiences at our department with cholecystectomy using this new technique.
