Differential effects of Kv11.1 activators on Kv11.1a, Kv11.1b and Kv11.1a/Kv11.1b channels.

Br J Pharmacol 161(3):614-28 (2010) PMID 20880400 PMCID PMC2990159

K(v)11.1 channels are involved in regulating cellular excitability in various tissues including brain, heart and smooth muscle. In these tissues, at least two isoforms, K(v)11.1a and K(v)11.1b, with different kinetics, are expressed. K(v)11.1 activators are potential therapeutic agents, but their effects have only been tested on the K(v)11.1a isoform. In this study, the effects of two different K(v)11.1 activators, NS1643 and RPR260243, were characterized on K(v)11.1a and K(v)11.1b channels.

We analyse a previously proposed cell-based model of Glioblastoma (brain tumour) growth, which is based on the assumption that the Cancer cells switch phenotypes between a proliferative and motile state (Gerlee And Nelander, PLoS Comp. Bio., 8(6) 2012). The dynamics of this model can be Described by...

We introduce a novel technique, based on Spectral graph considerations and on a mixed global-local focus. The Effectiveness of our technique is demonstrated by using markov clustering for The extraction of biological modules. We applied clustering to simplified Networks demonstrating a considerable...

    arXiv:1305.5010 [hep-ph] 22 May 2013

We study the supersymmetric effects in semi-leptonic $B_s\to\phi\mu^+\mu^-$ decay. In our evaluations, we analyze the dependences of The dimuon invariant mass spectrum and the forward-backward asymmetry on Relevant supersymmetric couplings in the MSSM with and without R-parity. The Analyses show the...
