[Intima-media thickness and its relation with the SCORE function in Spain].

Med Clin (Barc) 136(15):653-8 (2011) PMID 21397278

Measurement of carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) has been proposed for the evaluation of subclinical atherosclerosis as part of the cardiovascular prevention strategy. The objectives are to describe the association between IMT and the presence of other cardiovascular risk (CVR) factors and with CVR estimated by the SCORE function.

    Hernia (2013) PMID 23677326

126,913 inguinal hernioplasty procedures were performed. The annual rate was on average 34 per 10,000 inhabitants. An increase of the case mix complexity and relevant changes in procedure technique were recorded. From multivariate analysis, the following independent factors related to a hospitalizat...
  2. Novel SNPs in the bovine ADIPOQ and PPARGC1A genes are associated with carcass traits in Hanwoo (Korean cattle).

Mol Biol Rep (2013) PMID 23649766

We identified nine SNPs in the ADIPOQ gene. Two SNPs (DQ156119: g.1436T > C and DQ156119: g.1454A > G) in the promoter region were recognized as new SNPs identified in Hanwoo. Association analysis indicated that the g.1454A > G SNP genotype was significantly associated with effects on LMA (P ...
