Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor protects memory impairment in the senescence-accelerated mouse (SAM)-P10.

Neurol Res 33(4):354-9 (2011) PMID 21535933

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with memory impairment in elderly people. At present, AD remains incurable. More and more evidences have suggested that granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) has important non-hematopoietic neuroprotective functions in central nervous system. The present study was designed to investigate the therapeutic potential of G-CSF in the senescence-accelerated mouse prone strain (SAM-P10) mice, a mouse model of senile dementia.

We report a new strategy of using surface-functionalized small carbon nanoparticles to harvest visible photons for subsequent charge separation on the particle surface in order to drive the efficient photocatalytic process. The aqueous solubility of the catalysts enables photoreduction under more de...

We found that protein accumulation of multiple glutathione S-transferases (GSTs), elevation of GST activity, and consumption of glutathione (GSH) coincided with camalexin production. GSTF6 overexpression increased and GSTF6-knockout reduced camalexin production. Arabidopsis GSTF6 expressed in yeast...
