Screening for blunt cerebrovascular injuries is cost-effective.

J Trauma 70(5):1051-6; discussion 1056-7 (2011) PMID 21610423

Screening for blunt carotid and vertebral injury (BCVI) is increasing without a clear understanding of whether the chosen screening approach is cost-effective. We hypothesized that screening for BCVI using computed tomography angiography (CTA) was cost-effective in populations at high risk for BCVI.
