Eating in response to hunger and satiety signals is related to BMI in a nationwide sample of 1601 mid-age New Zealand women.

Public Health Nutr 15(12):2272-9 (2012) PMID 22443858

To examine the association between eating in response to hunger and satiety signals (intuitive eating) and BMI. A second objective was to determine whether the hypothesized higher BMI in less intuitive eaters could be explained by the intake of specific foods, speed of eating or binge eating.

  1. Microbiota Regulates the TLR7 Signaling Pathway Against Respiratory Tract Influenza A Virus Infection.

    Curr Microbiol (2013) PMID 23677145

We show that intestinal flora composition critically regulates the toll-like receptor 7 (TLR7) signaling pathway following respiratory influenza virus infection. TLR7 ligands rescued the immune impairment in antibiotic-treated mice. Intact microbiota provided signals leading to the expression of mRN...
  2. WRKY8 transcription factor functions in the TMV-cg defense response by mediating both abscisic acid and ethylene signaling in Arabidopsis.

    Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A (2013) PMID 23650359

We report that Arabidopsis thaliana WRKY DNA-binding protein 8 (WRKY8) has a role in mediating the long-distance movement of crucifer-infecting tobacco mosaic virus (TMV-cg). The expression of WRKY8 was inhibited by TMV-cg infection, and mutation of WRKY8 accelerated the accumulation of TMV-cg in sy...

We recently defined a mechanism of action for RhoA in membrane trafficking pathways through regulation of the octameric complex exocyst in a manuscript published in Developmental Cell. We have shown that microtubule-associated RhoA-activating factor GEF-H1 is involved in endocytic and excocytic vesi...
