HLA-DP and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.

Bone Marrow Transplant 13(6):675-81 (1994) PMID 7920290

HLA-DP typing is not routinely performed before allogeneic BMT. This highly polymorphic class II locus is implicated in immune response and DP molecules may act as transplantation antigens. HLA-DP incompatibilities contribute to MCL. In BMT performed between siblings, HLA-DP mismatches are rare and the role of such incompatibility in GVHD is probably lower than minor histocompatibility antigen disparity. In unrelated BMT, the rate of HLA-DP mismatches is high and DP incompatibility cannot be used as an exclusion criterion in the selection of unrelated donors. Even if in vitro studies show that the HLA-DP antigen may be the target for GVHD, analysis of large numbers of unrelated BMT shows that DP incompatibility is not a risk factor for acute GVHD.

Abstract This study examined Australian speech-language pathologists' (SLPs) use of evidence-based practice (E(3)BP) when treating adults with functional voice disorders (FVDs). It was hypothesized that SLPs would report using the available evidence to care for their clients but may...

Mol Biol Rep (2013) PMID 23645090

We aimed to investigate the association between 13 cytokine genes and acute GVHD (aGVHD) after HLA-identical sibling BMT in 91 Iranian subjects. Negative association was found between aGVHD and donor IL-10/GCC haplotype or donor IL-4Ra-A allele in the population study. When compared within the leuke...

    J Clin Pathol (2013) PMID 23661716

We tend to classify lung cancer by smoking status for screening purpose. With the discoveries of many actionable driver mutations such as activating EGFR mutations and ALK rearrangement in adenocarcinoma of the lung we have switched to classifying non-small cell lung cancer into different individual...
